Embark on a transformative journey into the realm of fantasy art in our inspiring workshop. Dive deep into the realm of faeries, dragons, and sorcery as you learn to craft evocative and enchanting artwork. Experience the magic of fantasy art firsthand in our immersive workshop. Delve into the realms of myths and legends, and master the art of recreating otherworldly creatures, epic battles, and breathtaking landscapes.
Follow along with Illustrator Marco Marin as we explore the process of creating a fantasy art piece. During our 8-week program, we will review sketching, colouring and perspective, as well as tips and tricks to bring magic into your work.

About the instructor:

Welcome to the hauntingly imaginative world of Marco Marin (Ulmo), a Toronto-based illustrator with a penchant for all things dark and fantastical. Skilled in conjuring vivid realms filled with monstrous creatures, captivating characters, and cute little animals, Ulmo expertly combines spine-chilling horror with a touch of macabre and whimsy.

Armed with an abundance of creativity and an unrelenting passion for bringing the deepest, darkest corners of the imagination to life, Ulmo's spectacularly eerie artistry has brought him to collaborate in a wide range of projects including: Illustration, Album Covers, Book Covers and Inserts, Apparel Illustration, Public Art Projects, and many other spine chilling and hair rising projects.

Ulmo has been granted honours as notable as First Place Winner at Creepy Tree Film Festival 2020, for "Best Horror Art - Single: Creepy Commercial Appeal", Ulmo's journey has led him as Lead Concept Artist for Gata Games Studio.

Location: Northern Contemporary Gallery (420 Roncesvalles Ave, Toronto ON)

Class Size: 9-20 people *

Cost: $280 per participant (14+)

Materials: Bring your own, suggestions below:

A sketchbook; minimum size 8.5" x 1""
2x Pencils HB,2x Pencils 2B, 2x Pencils 2H or an Artist Pencil Kit with that range of pencils. 1x Kneaded Eraser.
1x rubber eraser.
1x Masking Tape
1x Ruler or basic geometry kit.
Utility Knife
Glue Stick
Tracing Paper Pad
Drawing devices like tablets with pen
Non-Solvent Based Paints and brushes
Non-Solvent Base Markets
Other art materials upon consultation with the instructor.

*Please note that this class will only take place if we get at least 9 people registered. 

** All classes are final sale and non-refundable once we've reached the minimum number of registrants required to run the class. However, they are transferrable to someone else if you are no longer able to attend the class.
