Dates: September 14, 21, 28, and October 5, 12, 2022
Time: Wednesdays 3:30 - 6:00PM (2.5 hours)
In this 5-week art workshop, students will be introduced to five different art-making styles using a variety of materials and techniques, drawn from different eras throughout art history. This class is geared towards students with a keen interest in the arts, who are looking to explore new mediums. We will try Lino-cutting, painting, sculpture, still life, with the final session in the workshop creating a collaborative art mural, which will draw upon on the students’ individual artistic styles.

Alathea (Thea) is an art educator and cultural producer based out of Toronto. After completing her degree at Concordia University in Montréal, she taught several classes and led a youth camp with the Visual Arts Centre. In 2016, after moving back to Toronto to raise her daughter, Alathea has been focusing on the production of arts and culture events in collaboration with organizations and associations like StreetARToronto, various BIA’s, Mural Routes, and more. She’s excited to be back to teaching with the amazing folks at Northern Contemporary, and looks forward to highlighting the artistic skills of the children of the Roncesvalles neighbourhood!
Location: Northern Contemporary Gallery (420 Roncesvalles Ave, Toronto ON)
Class Size: 10 kids *
Cost: $300 per participant (8-10 year olds)
*This class will only take place if we get at least 10 kids registered. We will make sure to give plenty of notice prior to the first session (September 14) if anything changes.
