Shelby McLeod is a Toronto based artist and screenprinter currently working out of her studio in parkdale. Often drawing on personal experiences that act as starting points for her works, which are conceived on the border between drawing and printmaking. Primarily a mixed media artist, she uses screenprint, scanography, and illustration to create work that explores image making through the process of information deterioration. Through lived experience her work examines punk, DIY subcultures in Toronto, with an emphasis on capturing the places and people that inhabit them. In an attempt to create an anti-revisionist record of her life and friends with unflinchingly frank and intimate images of the artist's friends living hard and partying harder.
