Leone McComas is a Canadian-Nigerian Visual Artist, Muralist, and Designer based in Toronto.
With faith as her foundation, she creates with a focus on hope and transformation. Metaphors of transformation sift the surface of her work, reflecting change and perspective shifts; while a desire to maintain a painting’s luminosity speaks to a need for transparency. Since graduating from OCADU with a B.Des in Illustration, she has exhibited locally and internationally in Florence, Italy, and Daegu, South Korea. In 2018, Leone received Mural Route’s MACD certificate and continues creating murals in the public realm; most notably for WomxnPaint in 2019, and Canderel’s St.Clair Village hoarding as 1/3rd of MRLTM in 2019-20.
She is a recipient of the OIEOS scholarship in 2010, the OAC Visual Arts Project Grant in 2018, and took part in OCADU’s 36th Florence studio Program, and the AKIN x MOCA Toronto studio program in 2018/19.
