Class overview:
In this week long art camp, students will be introduced to a variety of craft and art-making styles using different materials and techniques drawn from different eras throughout art history. We will explore monoprints, puppets, works on paper, comics, zines, and more! This class is geared towards students with a keen interest in the arts who are looking to experiment with new mediums. All activities will draw upon and encourage children's individual artistic styles.
Instructor
Katika Marczell (she/her) is an arts educator, interdisciplinary artist, and muralist. She completed her (honors)BA at the University of Toronto, and her MFA at York University. She has worked with the Agnes Etherington Art Centre, Bell Box Murals, Kensington BIA, West Queen West BIA, Street Art Toronto, The Personal Care Bank, Mural Routes, Arts Milton, as well as private clients. Her murals can be found in and around Toronto, Etobicoke, and Milton. She has facilitated a variety of community workshops around Toronto, and is currently teaching at York University. She loves working with children and is excited to facilitate this series of compelling and educational workshops.
Location: Northern Contemporary Gallery (420 Roncesvalles Ave, Toronto ON)
Class Size: 10 kids max (need at least 5 sign ups to run)
Cost: $400 per participant (6-10 year olds) for 5 days
